North London & South Herts Group
The North London & South Herts Group offers a full programme of walks throughout the year, in the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire, West Essex, Bedfordshire and over to the Chilterns in the west, as well as some urban walks exploring the our local area and the history of other areas of London. There are a long and a short walk on Sundays and some mid-week walks. Short walks are normally about 5 or 6 miles and often in the morning, while long walks are 10 miles or more, and aim to finish about 4pm.
We also organise ‘coach rambles': a day out to a more distant spot with a choice of 2 or 3 walks of different lengths and weeks away in some of the best walking areas of the UK (Lake District, Dartmoor, etc.). There are some social events too, including a Christmas Lunch (preceded by a good walk, of course).
Just come and try it out. The Membership Secretary will be happy to send you the current programme and you are very welcome to come out on some walks without joining the Ramblers initially. You will also find some (though not all) of our walks listed on the main Ramblers website: Groups Walks Finder
We have nearly 800 members mainly living in the boroughs of Enfield and Barnet. If you join Ramblers and live in one of the following postcode areas, this would be your ‘home group' and you would receive our Newsletter and Walks Programme 3 times a year as part of your membership.
